failing really big with god + subsequent thoughts

a very personal post

Hello my dear readers, let me begin by saying this is the type of post that took several tries to get exactly right.

Admittedly, I can’t even guarantee that it’s right on this try. Regardless, I hope that it reaches you on some level, and I personally think it’s full of things that need to be said.

Before I get into the specific details, you need a little background information. I relatively recently discovered this amazing church; it’s been the type of place that has absolutely saved me without any of the people really noticing at all. The pastor is on this wavelength where I just absolutely know God is speaking to me specifically through him; like maybe everyone feels that way, but regardless, I feel that way. I can think something, and then the next thing he says is in answer to my thoughts. It’s weird, and it’s the coolest thing. The people exude this unrelenting faith, the peace in their hearts is obvious and beautiful and I crave that.

cliche title about mountains

China Beach Coast

Shoddily published from my phone because my computer is on its deathbed, so I am very sorry for the undoubtedly poor formatting and numerous errors.

A few months ago, at a church very far from my own, God spoke very powerfully to me through a woman active in that congregation.

I had been struggling for quite sometime with my lack of direction. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing with my life. The uncertainty was crippling; and the frustration as a result was poisoning. My relationship with God faltered; I openly resented Him at times. It seemed like everyone but me had some divine calling. Even earlier that day, a man deemed as the church’s prophet had prayed over my friend and I. As a result, he had told her specifically what avenues of her life to focus on now, and which ones would be more prominent later. I got “do what you love, and don’t worry about the rest.” All stuff I’d heard a thousand times, all stuff I ultimately knew. I spent the entire service ignoring the sermon and dwelling on what that man had said to my friend and I. For almost a year I had been begging and pleading with God to just cut me a break, to give me a path, to let me know what my future held. (Spoiler alert: the world is not a wish granting factory, and neither is God.) Literal moments before, I’d been begging for that same clear, cut and dry answer, and had gotten the ever vague “do what you love” speech.

video projects: i am second inspired vids

I haven’t published anything in such a long time that I’m genuinely feeling guilty. Not so guilty that I’m currently writing some stellar, life changing post, not even so guilty that I’m writing and cute and funny post; in fact, this post barely counts from a writing perspective.

For whatever reason, I am not feeling inspired to blog as of late. However, I am working on a video project, which sent me on a trip down memory lane; which is precisely where I found these little gems. No, the quality is not phenomenal, but these are legitimately the first two videos I had ever shot and/or edited, and I didn’t want to part ways with them.

There is no better way to keep all the random junk you don’t exactly want, but also don’t want to trash, than to throw it out into that glorious place we call the Interweb. Okay, maybe only I call it that, but it’ll catch on before you know it.

Interweb. Interweb. Interweb.

Sorry, a girl’s gotta try. Now, I digress, in wanting to hold onto my paltry little video assignments, but also needing to clear up memory space, I have for your viewing pleasure, via the YouTube, interviews with two fine, wonderful, inspiring examples of the Christian faith. Both Rudi and Elizabeth are amazing people with heartwarming stories about God’s love. i wish I had more than a minute to share with you all.

Nonetheless, without further ado, I give you some videos I made for a class.

Please save your applause for the end.

If you are interested in either Rudi’s or Elizabeth’s story, tell me why in the comments below. If you have other ways of saving things you should probably just trash, tell me how. If you have any other questions or comments, let me hear them.
